    Join Petone Beach Clean Up Crew and Keep Hutt Valley Beautiful for a beach clean-up on Sunday 5th October 2025 at the Porirua Inlet.

    Bags, grabbers are supplied, please bring gardening gloves if you own some. Wear old clothes and it is suggested to wear gumboots as we will working in the area at low tide.

    Meet at Stout Cottage, in Pāuatahanui Wildlife Reserve. Parking on the road or the Lighthouse carpark over the bridge

    You will be counting and measuring the cockles on the mudflats to help us assess the Inlet’s ecological health. You don’t need any knowledge or previous experience — we show you what to do. We provide equipment. All you need to bring are gumboots old clothes weatherproof gear.
